On October 10th, Phillippe Haiart and his friend were walking through the parking lot of the Phat Cat Video store on (Ellis Avenue -check), when shots were fired from a house across the street, striking both young men. The victims were not the intended targets.
Haiart was hit in the stomach by a stray bullet, stumbled 100 metres down the road and collapsed in front of a pizza shop. Both men were taken to hospital where Haiart succumbed to his injury. The 25 year old male was reported in stable condition at the time of the release.
A police raid on the house where the shots were fired, resulted in the arrest of a 17 year old male and 19 year old male. The older male, (name), has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder.
