Charge - 2nd Degree Murder
On March 1st, 2007, at a hotel in the 400 block of Main Street, three males, Douglas McCann, Terrance Brightman and Steven Paul Cheffins, became involved in an argument which led to a fight. McCann was seriously assaulted and received extensive injuries to his upper body. He was taken to hospital in critical condition where he was treated for life-threatening injuries.
At the time Brightman and Cheffins were arrested and charged with Aggrevated Assault.
On March 2nd, McCann died of his injuries.
On Monday, March 5th, Brightman and Cheffins were arrested and charged with 2nd Degree Murder.
