Statistics Canada Data: Winnipeg = 27 Manitoba = 45 (includes Winnipeg)
For 2014, Statistics Canada reported 45 homicide victims for the province of Manitoba with 27 of those homicides occurring in Winnipeg. In the Winnipeg table below I have identified 25 Cases (0 Unsolved). In the Manitoba table I've identified xx (in progress). Some of the unsolved and disappearance cases may have been resolved but not reported to media. | 2014.01.26 | GABRIEL, Rocelyn (20) | Rocelyn Gabriel, 20, was found near death on Jan. 26, 2014, at a recycling depot in Portage la Prairie. Man. She later died in hospital. A medical examiner's report states that she died of hypothermia. Portage la Prairie RCMP eventually ruled out foul play but say the case is still open. | 2014.12.19 | JOSS, Cody (21) | At approximately 6:45 p.m., Cody was walking northbound on McGregor Street when a westbound vehicle on Inkster Boulevard struck him. The involved vehicle fled the area before police arrived. Cody was subsequently transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries from which he later succumbed. | McGregor Street, Winnipeg |
